In a move aimed at promoting the concept of green business in Iraq, the Iraqi Small and Medium Enterprises Finance Company participated in the camp organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Central Bank of Iraq (CIB) under the slogan “A Journey from Green Ideas to Green Profit” in Basra from June 22 to 24, on the occasion of Small and Medium Enterprises Day.

The camp attracted a large number of small business owners who presented their existing and successful projects that support the environment in Basra and Muthanna governorates. They were trained by the International Labor Organization in intensive and professional workshops on innovation, learning and cooperation to develop green ideas and reflect them on their business models, with technical support from specialized trainers, to better manage and develop their businesses that serve society and the environment. This event was characterized by an atmosphere of positive interaction among the participants, which gave them the opportunity to exchange experiences and innovative ideas in the field of green business.

This camp lasted for three days, and at the end of it, a group of participants was selected to be given rewards, financial grants, and prizes provided by the Iraqi Company for Financing Small and Medium Enterprises (ICF), and other contributing companies. These awards aim to support and develop small projects that contribute to achieving environmental sustainability.

The Green Business Camp aims to enhance awareness of the importance of green business and environmental sustainability, support and develop small projects that contribute to preserving the environment, and encourage innovation and exchange of ideas among small business owners.
